So...how is everyone this rather Grey looking Friday afternoon?? I'm not quite sure where summer is yet.
I've been surfing the net looking for weird and wonderful jewellery to brighten up my day (as the sun isn't doing a very good job)...and wow...i found some amazing pieces! I find jewellery that's created from recycled/unconventional materials so fascinating, and the fact that these are so strange and completely unique only makes them better....
The first thing i came across was this amazing collar by designer Lucie Houdkova. It's sculpted from tracing paper, stainless steel, Silver and plastic and is part of Lucie's 'Deep' collection. Visit Lucie's website here.

Next i found this 'Spine Necklace' by Ayaka Nishi.....made from coyote bones and snake spine encased in silver....super creepy....but amazing!

Then there's these....it doesn't get much weirder. Face distorting jewellery by Burcu Buyukunal....

Eyelash necklace anyone?! Yes, thats right....a necklace featuring eyelashes made from real human hair by designer Stephanie Simek...

And finally... my absolute favourite and possibly a new obsession of mine are these super weird but beautiful jewellery pieces hand crafted from scratch using salvaged barbie doll parts, Sterling Silver and hand pigmented resins. I think this is such a cool, original idea and i'm not surprised at all that designer Margaux Lange's designs are so popular! Feast your eyes on these.....

So what do you think to my weird finds? I'd love to hear your thoughts on what makes jewellery design interesting to you. Please feel free to drop me a message in the comments below.
