of our new line of Toho Treasure beads!

These beads are a perfect additional to your sewing arsenal, with their strong, striking colours and their vast range of finishes like galvanized, milky or Silver lined as well as many more! Using TOHO Treasures in your designs is easy due to their similiarity to the Miyuki seed beads (another popular bead on our site) as the two match with their cylindrical Shape and uniformity but these beads have a larger threading hole to them, with the added benefit of a light weight then the Miyuki, meaning you get more for your money! We ahve stocked 1.8mm (11/0) beads will be introducing more bead sizes very soon!

TOHO Treasure seed beads have risen is popularity due to their distinct flat end instead of the traditional rounded edge of others, which when woven into projects, creates a smooth. flat and even finish across the design - perfect for embellished Bracelets or even beaded necklaces. They are also perfect for stringing and weaving as well as the creation of tassels and fringing giving the diversity for any projects or ideas!

To get your creative juices flowing, I found some stunning designs from a variety of different creators  of designs inspired by these versatile and beautifully tactile TOHO Treasure beads:-

Taken from Garlands Indian Jewelry Beaded Necklace and Earring Set by Rena Charles

This design is taken from Garlands Indian Jewelry,  whose intricate and vibrant beads create this chic and dramatic set. She takes her inspiration from Indian rugs and Asian inspired materials and weaves and incorporates the colours and flow of the designs into these complex and bespoke items. Although she does not have a tutorial on the pieces themselves, her designs can be easily taken and adapted for all skill levels. I chose this one personally, as the classic colour combination of red, White and Black makes a stunning eye-catching piece and the falling drape in the necklace give it a regal feeling - as if the piece belonged to a princess of a distant land. The matching earrings follow that ideal with their staggered drop lines and matching colour scheme.

Another simple but attractive piece comes from the Instagram of @seedbeadsbliss by Leslie O'Nell (Link to her page here). @seedbeadsbliss creates these button bracelets and uses the natural bright colours of the TOHO beads as well as their uniform cylinderical shape to create this flowing and visually smooth ombre effect to her bracelets. I particularly love the second bracelet - it reminds me of the sun cycle during the day. The yellows and oranges giving a natural warmth with it's tones and colour softness, gradating to the darker colours of oranges, reds and eventually whites and Blue imitating twilight. The craftsmanship of these pieces are stunning but can be easily replicated by the intermediate jewellery maker. These two cutesy designs are perfect for inspiring little mementos for family and family (perfect as Christmas is just around the corner!) with their cute characters and eye-catching colours. The first is a creation of a Siberian jeweller on Instagram (@amel.nyuri) who created these striking woodland creatures which could be easily turned into a keycharm, pendant or even a pair of whimsical earrings. The reindeer would be especially perfect for a Christmas present for a secret santa or a female friend! The beauty of the simple design is highlighted by the tones of the beads - as well as the high-quality pearl-like finish - make these enchanting to look at.  

The second endearing design was also found on Instagram (@strickmitkick) and it's adorable colour scheme and overall creation, which would be perfect hanging from any girl's school bag. The colours and finish are a little different from the first as they wanted to go for something a little more fantasy or cartoon like - the brilliant blue against the pastel Pink and the pearlescent pink compliment each other for a striking and distinctive finish. Like the previous, these could easily be adapted for other products (as you can see from the ring attached to the top of the piece).
