So grab your potion, take a seat and let us help you to get inspired to create some gruesome (but still stunning) glamour!
Inspired by the traditional Mexican celebration of “Dia de los Muetos” (The Day of the Dead) and it’s beautiful use of vivid, beautiful colours and their famous striking “Sugar Skulls” face paintings, why not create a beautiful necklace with a Day of Dead sugar skull? The rustic colouring and textured and intricate design adds a simple but elegant texture and would be any focal point in your Day of the Dead celebrations. If your looking to inject a little more colour into your jewellery have a look at our striking and deep coloured gothic Skull beads? We have a huge array of metallic hematite skulls and Swarovski skulls for an extra gleam and shine to your project or matte coloured sugar skull inspired beads in assorted colours from black to neon Green and Pink. If the skulls are prehaps too literal for your project, we have some bone hairpipe tube beads which have a smooth finish but banded in multiple colours for a ethnic twist, in keeping with the Mexican holiday style. I love the way the hairpipe beads can be easily treaded together with the matt skulls to give this cross-trend finish and it will definately ensure that your finished projects are as unique and vibrant as the Day of the Dead celebrations.

For the Victorian or steampunk inspired looks, why not explore the antique silver and Gold pieces we have for that authentic finish to your look?
We have some delicate, but elegant, filigree beads in a embellished Flower pattern which would be a beautiful accompaniment for that bespoke bracelet design. The textured beads, with raised silver bobbles between the petals of the flower bead would add that simple glamorous finish to any bracelet. For the gold inspired creators, we have an amazing array of pendants and beads, perfect to match and highlight the gold elements of your steampunk or Victorian attire. One such pendant, is a breathtaking cyan geode necklace, whose kaleidoscope of blues and whites against the rugged gold casing would be perfect match for a equally striking gold plated twisted chain for a matching and unique piece. For those who perhaps are just looking for a gothic touch to your inspiration, we have an assortment of pendants, charms and other materials that will give that added edge to your design. For example, we have some effortless Crescent Moon pendants, created and carved from a natural milky coloured bone material, threaded with some double-faced black ribbon for that Hollywood inspired necklaces, seen by vampire countesses or female sorcerers alike.

Maybe for the traditional halloween enthusiast, we also have some classic crucifixes in a range of different materials from woods to metals for the worn or historical looks – we have some wooden, matte finished cross pendants for those religious inspired costumes, to our black iron cross charms, with its textured exterior and dark brushed finished giving a haunted but visually appealing effect. For me, I love the antique finishes to the cross and have a person favourite of the Large Brass Cross as it's simple but almost weathered finish give character to the piece. You can even use it for your partner for a matching set, perfect for joint costumes or stand-alone pieces. For a gen, I'd recommend using Leather cord as your threading material, such as our round leather cord with a shiny finish, for a more masculine and virile look.

Perhaps if you want to create a piece, more inspired by the Hollywood glamour, that could be worn even after the festivities have passed, we have some opulent designs for some high-class jewellery pieces. We have a fantastic range of Mikuyi beads for a creation in a dramatic drop necklace, inspired by the elegant vampiric characters such as Erika from the Underworld series, for some dark but visually elegant pieces. If perhaps you want a little more colour into your design, we have some Sterling Silver fixings to add to the ethereal and dramatic look that you might be looking for. For the beads, we have a diverse selection in our Miyukis in cut, colour, Shapes and finishes to enable you to find the right bead for you. For my personal taste, the Magatama Black beads have a stunning curve to them, paired with a simpler Miyuki round bead for a darker, almost sinister and sharp finish – mirroring the sharp demeanour (and teeth!) of a vampire. (If perhaps you are inspired by the teeth element, we also have some tooth shaped pendants. Some black crystal ones would be a great addition for dark and fierce finish) Maybe even substitute the black beads for red ones with a longer drop to simulate blood droplets?
