I decided to give beading a go after watching shows on create and craft and having made some beaded Christmas decorations as part of my hand therapy following surgery. I had positive feedback from my first attempts, and was therefore encouraged to do more. Since then I've made jewellery for gifts and of course for myself. Now a friend has asked me to make some to sell in her shop, hence I now have an extra reason to keep on beading. My biggest compliment was from my son, who asked me to make his teacher a bracelet at the end of the school year.... I made 2 for him to choose between but he decided he wanted to give both as he couldn't decide which he liked more!
Sorry forgot to say this all happened in the summer of 2013.
I've only been beading about 12 months so this stash would be amazing to win! Thanks for giving me the chance!
I stared beading about 4 years ago but at that time there were no beading shops near by. Then one day my daughter came home and said that we were going out, and she took me to a bead shop that she had found. Since then I have had some lessons and made lots of new friends, and have a love for beading that makes me happy.
ooooooooooo i have always been crafty and just fell into jewellery making by accident and have loved it ever since, about 3 years ago
My granddaughter showed me how
I got my passion for beading after doing a beginners wire wrap class in 2012. Done a few more classes since then. Now I just tend to come up with my own creations for my jewellery using the techniques I have learnt. Absolutely love making jewellery and one day my passion will become my work and income
I got my passion for beading after my mum was diagnosed with cancer as I wanted to make her something she could wear for strength
I only started beading last year, when complications following a broken leg kept me off my feet for 7.5 months
I first tried jewellery making when on holiday 3 years ago. They showed us how to make earrings & I was hooked ( excuse the pun ). On returning home I found a local shop who gave lessons. Since then I have gone onwards & upwards & have tried many mediums but my passion is wire. I have had a few of my makes win me prizes in magazines so think I must be doing it right x
I started beading a 1 year ago when I lost my dad it was something to keep my mind busy and something I enjoy doing, now ive just lost my sister I made her a special bracelet, would love to win this bundle to make some more goodies x
I got hooked over five years ago when we booked a jewellery making evening for a friends birthday. Lost my motivation lately so a stash like this could be just what I need to get back on track!
I became addicted to jewellery making 5 years ago, started with a cheeky £20 bid on some kit on eBay, when hubby said you can do that, to now being a hoarder lol. Luckily enough to have had some pieces in magazines and on TV. There is nothing more satisfying and relaxing
I started beading about six years ago at christmas, mum brought me some boxes of beads as she wanted to learn beading too , we brought her some and a book about beading . I didn't know what to do with them and kept looking them thinking how lovely the were, weeks later I got two books on beaded jewellery and I was hooked ! Poor mum isn't in to hers anymore . Since then I've have my page on Facebook , I have won competitions with me jewellery designs and wall hangings , I've have been in making jewellery magazine reader page and going November issue soon. I've been in shine on line magazine for five months running too. I love beading and designing to and I owe all to my lovely mum who can't what for my next make .
Last year I retired from my job which I had been doing for 17 yrs, I didn't know how it would be but I went to my local collage and signed up for my first jewellery class since then I have not looked back. I have now signed up for a 12 mths advance jewellery course and I can not wait. Loving it.,
Started making jewellery in 2007, following the sudden death of my husband. I missed him so much. The evenings were worse because we always spent them cwtched up on the setter watching TV or talking. It was a big hole to fill. I passed a magazine stand in the local H Smiths and noticed the cover of a Beads and Beyond magazine and picked it up and leafed through it and I suddenly thought "I could do that!". I bought the magazine and ordered some tools and beads etc.and the rest is history!! I could now fill those lonely evenings with something productive and beautiful. My three daughters loved my work and Ive done jewellery parties, made bespoke pieces for people for weddings, graduation balls, prom nights, and even taught friends and repaired much loved costume jewellery for work colleagues and family. I love working with semi-precious beads most of all, with Swarovski crystals coming a close second.
i got into beading after a year off work with an illness. I've always crafted but had lost my concentration along with my mojo. I started to feel better and saw some free classes put on by a lovely local retailer and have now found a new passion. Still short of experience and supplies so this prize would be a godsend!
wow, new to beading and this would be awesome. X
All my go to mediums in one bundle! I started bead weaving by accident - when I signed up for a local authority beaded jewellery class as a New Years resolution in 2009 - a little shocked to be handed a needle. That one resolution meant beading became a way of life for me. I now have an extended network of friends through beading who are as passionate about beading as me - and the highlight of my year is the annual bead retreat in Monyash. Through the medium I have had lots of opportunities that I wouldn't get in my day job e.g. participating for the first time in Battle of the Beadsmith this year. As a mixed media beadwork artist for me the evolving range of mediums continues to fuel the passion for beading - it means that there is always something new to try or learn.
My mum has had a passion for jewellery for a long time. She has now decided making her own as a hobby would be a good idea to keep her busy. and my me selling it would be a great way to keep her going. I am buying her the basics as a Christmas present to get her started without her know - which is proving hard that I though lol. I hope by winning this she will have more to start with and get her going.
I was going through a messy divorce so spent alot of time at my parents. My neice who lived next door showed me some jewellery which she had made. When I got home I ordered a few basic items and have been hooked ever since. It was very therapeutic and loved the fact after a few hours of creativity there was something to be shown ☺ I must admit now though I have become a bit of a bead addict!
I've taught myself to bead while sitting in a field while my husband plays with traction engines
2012 wow that's such a short time, I love making jewellery for my family and friends, recently I've been teaching my seven year old grandaughter, we ve had such fun choosing colours and textures to put together to make her mummy a necklace and earrings for Abigail to give to her mummy for Christmas. I love putting together beautiful beads and sparkles to make lovely things for people I care about, it's my way of showing them how much They mean to me. Jewellery making fills my time, allows me to express my creativity in an alternative fashion and helps me manage my anxiety levels by distracting me with something beautiful when my illness threatens to overwhelm me. Your amazing giveaway would allow me to expand my endeavours and make even more lovely items. Thank you for the opportunity x
this would make a prefect christmas present for my mum because make quirky and unique beading jewelry smile emoticon gd luck everyone
I began beading and jewelery making in 2011. I has been diagnosed with chronic pain condition fibromyalgia and wanted a hobby to do while I was resting. Friends and family all.get handmade pieces for birthdays Christmas etc. About to go self employed with it too so exciting times :)
I have enjoyed dabbling with beads but it touched my heart when I beaded dragonfly decorations for my mum's funeral order of service. Everyone was so touched that they had a special keepsake. I now make a range of items to sell for my charity where there's a will which supports people effected by critical illness.

I have always been a creative person from an early age and enjoy all aspects of making and creating even when it doesn't turn out as planned as anything is possible :). I taught children's arts and crafts while I was still at school in my spare time and that passion still hasn't left me as I love to create wonderful bits and bobs with my children :) I would love to win this super fantastic prize.
I became addicted to wireeork jewellery by watching different crsft and jewellery making shows last year so still a newbie good luck every one .
Since retiring in 2011 I've tried several different crafts but beading is the one I'm addicted to.
I love making jewellery
I used to make jewellery when I was at school. My dad bought me and my sister some pliers and would take us to buy beads at the weekend. I lost the time and motivation for it when I got my weekend job in high school. Fast forward 20 years and I took a jewellery making class last year I found on groupon and I was hooked again.
I love beading and the creativity of it..I started beading whenI was younger. In primary school, I would do beading and arts and crafts whenever I got the chance to and I would create little gems if my own that I would give to friends as a gift haha..I only do beading when going to my Nan's house because it costs a lot and I'm only 14... I love how you can make sooooo many things with crystals and beads if you put your mind to it. I have been trying to find ways to get some crystals and beads to add to making clothing and accessories with but it's too expensive so this would help me a lot!!Thank you and goodluck to everyone!!xxx
I started beading (not very good at it ) couple of years ago at night when I couldn't sleep because I have M.E and sleep in the day and Dr said I need something to help simulate my brain,my first thing was a beaded bookmark.sometimes I just like to look at the beads,I'm a bit of a magpie lol
It was my young sister making jewellery pieces and show me which has start me off and learning a lots of different techniques. My favourite is weaving and am addict to beading for 5 years
Beading stimulates my soul,I am a recent beginner and love it.Thank you for the opportunity to enter your competition, good luck to everyone.
Jewellery making became a passion for me about 8 years ago when I became medically retired. I am chronically ill but have better spells when I can create. It is therapeutic and keeps me sane.
i started beading seriously 20 months ago and am really passionate about it. I always seem to have several projects on the go. It reminds me though of being a small child nearly 60 years ago when we were allowed to play with my granny's beads. She had an old treadle sewing machine, and a sewing box full of lace, beads and buttons. That's where the interest really started for Me. X
I am just starting with beads. I have very little stock, so this prize would be great. Thank you. It is so addictive.:)

I started beading in 2012 after I lost my job due to financial crisis. I had to do something cause I had a lot of free time. Besides, it is therapeutic and keeps me busy most of the time.
I started Beading very late in life when I was 69 (which was last year) started out as a hobby I was then asked why didn't I try having my own page which I did and it has just gone from strength to strength even to being asked to make bespoke jewellery for customers. I just love it!
