Becoming a desirable jewellery item for 2017. Pearls are becoming a desirable jewellery piece for women for their beautiful sheen and colours. No longer seen as the standard attire for the older , these sophisticated and stylish pearls are making a record come back. Pearls, traditionally, were a symbolism of love and purity, given as wedding presents, anniversaries, Mother's Day etc and a desired item in history. Pearls can come in a variety of types – cultured, freshwater and imitated, and a variety of Shapes, sizes and colours to help create bespoke pieces. Here at BeadsJar, we have a huge range of fresh water pearls and acrylic pearls to our extremely popular and decadent Swarovski pearls for that classic or vintage pearl style. For starters we have a range of acrylic pearls in a variety of colours and sizes for, perhaps, a starter beader or an economical one. The beads have bright, vivid colouration and make some eye-catching designs – if you want to create monochromatic designs or just a rainbow spectrum of colour – perfect for a Christmas token for friends, or even that Secret Santa!

For perhaps the more decadent pieces, we have Swarovski and Freshwater pearls for your pearl creations. Swarovski's are unique for their crystal core which is surrounded by layers of pearl lacquer for a beautiful lustrous finish and a strong and tactile bead. Flawless in design, these smooth and iridescent beads are coloured in a variety of Shades and tone, these pearls are perfect for that expensive look and style for any family member or friend. Fresh-water pearls are created by mussels and clams with the natural nacre material giving the conventional pearl appearance – the light milky colouration, smooth sheen and clean surface. You can find our ranges of pearls on Beads Jar here but also have a look at our YouTube channel here for some pearl designs that can inspire your Christmas designs!

Another trend that has been making a resurgence in 2017 has been large statement jewellery – more specifically statement earrings. Straight from the pages of Vogue and Elle, a huge surge in large statement earrings has been a must have for women around the world. Instead of spending hundreds of pounds on pairs of earrings, why not create some single, bespoke earrings for that special someone? Going with the beautiful pearls that we spoke about earlier, our in-store designer Billie created an amazing earring set with sterling silver feathers, and Multi-coloured beads to create this dramatic and colourful set.

Find the video here for a step-by-step instruction of how to create these amazing pieces – and YES before you say these are pairs, just think of it as two separate presents in one! Feel free however to adapt the design for your own tastes, like instead of the variations of Green, why not match the beads to your recipients style or colour? We have a huge variety of beads in multiple different sizes, colours, shades and much more to make sure that even though the most difficult of giftees, yes I am looking at you sisters and aunties – your difficult to buy and make for from personal experience - are catered for! You can look for specific colour selections here or even if you'd like a different shape to your beads, you can also find a variety of shapes here
