Welcome to Friday's Minion madness....
As i can't seem to escape Minions lately (not that i'd want to!), i thought i'd make it the theme of some of our Jewellery Designs this week and todays Blog. I am slightly ashamed to say i haven't actually seen the film yet....i shall be rectifying this very shortly though i promise. I don't think i've come across anyone who doesn't love these cute little Blue and Yellow lovelies! I saw these hilarious little Minionista's yesterday on Milan/Paris Mens Fashion Week's Facebook page and just had to share. Marc Jacobs has to be my favourite...

My first thought was to make something that the kids would love to have a go at. Our Despicable Me Loom Band kits are perfect! They come with 200 blue, White and yellow loom bands, crochet hook, mini S-Clasps and 3 Minion charms complete with Jump Rings. They are a steal at £1.49 too! Ive added a silver plated toggle clasp to this one to make the clasp a bit of a feature...

For the rest of the designs i went for Minion inspired....just taking the colours and using them to create these vibrant, fun pieces of jewellery wearable by both kids and us grown ups! First up is a different take on our Miyuki Sparkle Bracelets using opaque yellow Miyuki Seed beads (rather than silver lined) and a sparkling wire wrapped blue crystal Heart charm.

This rather sophisticated (yet vibrant) looking necklace was created using a stunning 14mm Swarovski Crystal Ultra Blue Rivoli, encased in a Miyuki Delica seed bead bezel, and finished off with a simple oval link silver trace chain.

Finally i created this simple but super bright and sparkly yellow glass bead & Chinese crystal bracelet with a twinkling wire wrapped blue faceted crystal star. I think this is one that can be worn by all ages and would make the perfect summer accessory. Guess what? It's super quick to make too....

If you or your little ones have gone Minion bonkers, why not have a go at making some Minion inspired jewellery yourself? I'd love to see some of your makes....please feel free to post in the comments below if you get your craft on this weekend :)
