❀ Creative Jewellery Inspired By Nature ❀

26/04/2016 1 Comment(s) News & Trending,

When Spring arrives and the sun starts shining, I find as a creative person you can't help but be inspired by nature in all it's glory. After months of seeing bare branches and frost covered trees, you start to see new leaves and fresh Colour.  This has always been an inspiration for artists and designers including myself (Though I admit...I'm pretty much inspired by nature all year round).

So this week I've been keeping an eye out for beautiful and creative jewellery designed around the elements. From resin Bracelets capturing organic materials and mysterious moss filled bottle pendants, to high-end jewelled rings, and hand cast bronze jewellery modelled on branches and forest finds.

I picked out some of my favourites to share with you below...

These resin bracelets are painstakingly made by Oregon based designer Sarah Smith of Modern Flower Child on Etsy. Sarah dries all of her own plants and flowers, often taking weeks before mixing her resin and arranging them just right. The result is a real piece of nature forever preserved in these beautiful accessories...

The 'Procilla Beauty' butterfly necklace below from the Autumn Orchid is also created with using resin to encase this gorgeous Blue butterfly image.

I love these unusual necklaces by Sandra of the 'Some Magic Handmade Jewellery' on Etsy. Sandra uses cork topped glass bottles and Clear glass lockets to encase moss, bark, lichens and other natural materials creating unique jewellery with a wonderful ethereal feel to it.

I find these bronze cast pieces by designer Donna Hiebert featured at Strong House absolutely mesmerising and quite able to rid me of any disposable income I may have. On the left is her eye-catching 'Rockweed Pendant' cast in bronze, sliding along a double strand chain. To the right are these amazing 'Edamame Pod Earrings' also cast in bronze, hollowed out and patinated to create texture. They are finished off beautifully with simple long hook sterling Silver ear wires. Take a look at these and Donna's other designs here.

This rather unusual engagement ring by Anjay's Designs features Yellow gold diamond encrusted vines snaking around the finger with a 1.0ct forever brilliant Moissanite stone set in the centre...

Gilbert Albert's one of a kind creations are a result of over 60 years experience as an artisan jeweller. His designs are heavily inspired by the natural world and are regarded by many as works of art as well as jewellery pieces. This intricate gold lichen inspired necklace features two centre emeralds and is frosted with diamonds all around the neck piece. Absolutely stunning. See more of Gilberts work here.

A large central tourmaline stone, coloured diamonds, rubies and tsavorites adorn this fruity ring from the Rainforest High Jewellery Collection at the Jewellery Theatre.  Be prepared to spend a while on this website; the jewellery is awe-inspiring...so many colourful gems and intricate details. The pieces are split up into collections with lush names like Eden, Elements, Fairytale, Kaleidoscope and Bionics.
